Investors’ Insights Vietnam Edition: What excites Klaus H. about investments in Vietnam

This is also the case with Klaus H., for whom both the financial and ecological aspects of his investments are important. He tells us here exactly what these are and what he particularly likes about Vietnam as a market for solar energy.

I have been involved with renewable energies all my professional life, the last few years in the field of business development for battery storage systems. After more than 30 years in the industry, the topic is not only important to me professionally, but also privately. That’s why I attach great importance to investing my money sensibly and promoting sustainable solar projects that have a measurably positive impact on the environment and thus support climate protection.   

On the other hand, the interest offered also plays a role for me. It’s nice to see that you can do something good for the planet with your money while at the same time benefiting from interest payments. Unfortunately, this is hardly ever the case nowadays when you invest your money in a bank. The relatively short terms of the subordinated loans are also a plus in my eyes. This means that the interest and redemption payments can be easily planned for other private projects.  

I don’t have any fixed selection criteria when choosing the projects I invest in. I rather orientate myself on the conditions of the individual projects and trust ecoligo to develop the projects to a high quality. I assume that the clients and their business model are carefully examined so that repayment risks are minimised as much as possible.

This also applies to projects in Vietnam. I like the solar projects in the Southeast Asian country very much because the general conditions in Vietnam are simply right. For many years, the country has consistently relied on renewable energies such as wind power and solar energy. Vietnam has managed to combine its strong economic growth with the expansion of renewables and is thus a role model for many other countries. I am sure that the country will continue to see a lot of growth in the coming years and still holds a lot of potential, especially for the use of renewable energies.”
