Investors’ Insights Vietnam Edition: What excites Wolfgang P. about investing in Vietnam

For more than half a year, our crowdinvestors have been able to actively participate in the solar boom in Vietnam. The desire for more sustainability and a rapidly increasing energy demand of the Vietnamese economy have clearly driven this positive turnaround in recent years. Wolfgang P., a long-time investor, tells why he likes to invest in Vietnamese projects.

“There are two aspects in particular that excite me about ecoligobe’s investment opportunities. On the one hand, it is important to me that every investment promotes the expansion and use of renewable energies. I myself have been active for years on a voluntary basis in the field of energy transition and am very committed to a rethink in society. We must realise the switch to renewable energies completely and as quickly as possible if we want to save our climate. Every new solar project can make an important contribution here.

My interest in Vietnamese projects is particularly aroused by the fact that solar plants there save a lot of CO2 thanks to their size and the composition of conventional electricity and thus make a significant contribution
to the energy transition.

On the other hand, the interest rates and terms of the loans offered per project are also a decisive factor for me. Even though these vary, I have invested in almost every project so far. Above all, the detailed information on the end customers and project partners creates a lot of transparency and trust.

My interest in Vietnamese projects is particularly aroused by the fact that solar plants there save a lot of CO2 thanks to their size and the composition of conventional electricity and thus make a significant contribution to the energy transition. The photovoltaic plants there thus have a greater efficiency than projects in other countries. The fact that in Vietnam it is often long-established companies that are equipped with a solar plant is also a plus. Thus, the probability of insolvency on the part of the end customer seems rather low. In addition, Vietnamese companies can often boast several certificates for sustainability or quality assurance. Another reason for me to invest in projects in Vietnam and to support the switch to renewable energies there as well.”
