How can you reduce your ecological footprint by using solar power if you don’t have your own photovoltaic system? Jürgen E. also asked himself this question and found his own clear answer: By investing in our solar energy projects. He explains to us here exactly how he came to this innovative approach.

“I first heard about ecoligo two years ago through Jung in Rente. Until then, I was rather sceptical about the concept of crowdfunding and preferred to invest in the stock market. However, there you only get superficial insights into the companies and can mainly find out about the most important economic figures. With ecoligo, on the other hand, all projects are explained in detail and presented in a comprehensible and clear manner. For me, this is a clear advantage over regular investments on the stock exchange and creates transparency and trust. Also, compared to similar platforms, ecoligo provides its investors with the most details and information about the projects. I have never seen that anywhere else.

For me, the investments via the platform are one thing above all: a substitute for my own photovoltaic system. I have been interested in this topic for a long time, but because of my low energy consumption, a system on my own roof would not be profitable for me. Nevertheless, I would like to make my contribution to the energy transition. So I have resolved to invest as much money in solar projects in the global south as an average solar system for a private household in Austria would cost me. I then offset the interest earned from the investments against my electricity bill to simulate the use of a solar system there as well.

When it comes to the projects themselves, I have no particular preference, as they all make a valuable contribution to the energy transition and environmental protection. That’s why I like to support many different projects and diversify my investments as much as possible.”
